Media announces trilateral talks in US: Zelenskyy and Putin’s sides deny them

Information about a trilateral meeting between the delegations of Ukraine, Russia, and the United States in New York has not been confirmed. Ukraine’s Presidential Office has denied it, according to a comment by Ukrainian presidential adviser Dmytro Lytvyn to journalists.
No trilateral meeting took place in New York
Ukraine’s Presidential Office did not confirm media reports about a meeting of the Ukrainian, Russian, and US delegations in New York on September 24.
According to presidential adviser Dmytro Lytvyn, the Ukrainian delegation is already on its way home.
Russia denies reports
There will be no trilateral Russia-US-Ukraine meeting in New York. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s negotiator Kirill Dmitriev.
He cynically added that reports in Ukrainian media about upcoming talks in New York were fake.

Earlier, media outlets, citing a source in diplomatic circles, reported that a trilateral meeting on an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia could take place in the United States today.
It was reported that Ukraine could be represented by Presidential Office head Kyrylo Budanov and Foreign Intelligence Service head Rustem Umerov, the US by President Donald Trump’s envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, and Russia by the Russian leader’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev.
The last meeting on ending Russia’s war against Ukraine took place in February 2026.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that on September 23, the Russian President’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev traveled to the United States, where he was to meet with Trump administration officials Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and others.
In addition, Putin’s representatives had previously said they intended to resume trilateral talks on Ukraine involving the United States. However, there has been no progress on this so far.
