Massive Russian drone strikes hit Kirovohrad region, leave city center in the dark

As a result of the Russian army’s attack on infrastructure facilities, the regional center and 44 settlements in the region were partially cut off from electricity, according to the head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, Andrii Raikovych, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS).
According to local authorities, the regional center and 44 settlements in the Oleksandrivka community were partially disconnected from the power supply. Several private households in Oleksandrivka were also damaged.
"Rescuers were extinguishing fires all night. The main thing is that people are alive. Now the aftermath of the enemy’s attack is being eliminated," Raikovych said.
The DSNS of Ukraine added that on the night of September 17, Russians struck infrastructure facilities in the Kropyvnytskyi district. Fires broke out at three locations as a result of UAV strikes.
"No reports of casualties have been received. All emergency services are working at the scene. A total of 61 rescuers and 14 pieces of DSNS equipment have been deployed to eliminate the consequences of the enemy attack," the statement said.
On the night and morning of September 17, Russian forces also carried out strikes on cities across Ukraine.
In the village of Prymorske, Vasylivka district, Zaporizhzhia region, one person was injured after an FPV drone strike on a passenger bus.
In addition, Shahed drones massively attacked the Cherkasy region, causing damage to critical infrastructure.
The infrastructure of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) was also damaged, leading to train delays and cancellations.
