Massive fire breaks out at missile electronics plant in Yekaterinburg
A large-scale fire broke out in Yekaterinburg, Russia, at the Scientific and Production Association of Automation. Among other things, this company produces electronics for missiles, according to Russian media.
Scientific and Production Association of Automation caught fire today, on July 30. The company manufactures control systems for space rockets.
According to Russian media reports, a chemical workshop is on fire, and the roof and walls of the building have begun to collapse. The fire covers 1,000 square meters and is gradually expanding.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that the roof of the workshop on an area of 500 square meters had already collapsed.
Russians report that acrid smoke fumes are now spreading in the city. The smoke is visible from all over Yekaterinburg.
Earlier today, on July 30, Russians reported a drone attack on the Mozdok airfield in North Ossetia. The city where the airport is located is more than 750 km from the Ukrainian border.
