Massive drone and missile attacks hit Rostov region: Governor gives details
Last night, a number of cities in the Rostov region came under a massive drone and missile attack. Air defense forces intercepted the strike drones and missiles, Yury Slyusar, Acting Governor of the Rostov region, reports.
Several cities in the region were attacked by more than three dozen drones and three missiles. Air defense forces were deployed to protect Taganrog, Bataysk, Rostov, Shakhty, Kamensk, Millerovo, and Novoshakhtinsk.
According to Slyusar, most aerial targets were eliminated, but a fire broke out at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery.
"Unfortunately, due to the fall of drone fragments, one person was injured in a settlement near Rostov. He has received the necessary assistance," said the Acting Governor.
At 6:45 a.m. local time (5:45 a.m. Kyiv time), the fire at the oil refinery was extinguished.
Airstrikes on Rostov region
On the night of December 19, around midnight, a series of explosions occurred in the city of Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov region.
Eyewitnesses reported an attack involving kamikaze drones and posted videos of a large-scale fire at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery.
Earlier, on Wednesday, December 18, Russians complained about a missile attack on the Rostov region. Allegedly, air defense forces shot down ten missiles. In one of the region's settlements, a private house caught fire.
At the end of November, a UAV attack caused a fire at the Atlas oil depot near Kamensk-Shakhtinsky.
