Man throws grenade near supermarket in Zhytomyr, injuring six

A man threw a grenade into a group of people near a supermarket in Zhytomyr. The accident occurred on the evening of May 30, the National Police in the Zhytomyr region reports.
At around 11:30 p.m. local time yesterday, police received a report about an explosion near a supermarket on Myru Avenue in Zhytomyr. Police officers, an investigative team, criminal investigators, forensic experts, bomb disposal specialists, and Security Service of Ukraine representatives were dispatched to the scene.
Law enforcement officers determined that an unidentified man threw a grenade into a group of people near the store and fled the scene.
Due to the explosion, six Zhytomyr residents aged between 22 and 42 were injured and hospitalized.
Police have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 15, Paragraphs 1 and 5 of Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted murder of two or more persons committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of many).
Last weekend, on May 25, a drunk man threw a grenade in a park in the city of Nizhyn, the Chernihiv region.
Also, in early May, an explosion occurred in the Obolon district of Kyiv. Reports later revealed that a grenade detonated inside an apartment, injuring a man.
RBC-Ukraine also informed that in April, an explosion occurred at the Yunist market in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, killing two people.
