The Nurlino LPSD (linear production and dispatch station) is located at a strategic intersection of main oil pipelines connecting Western Siberia with the central regions of Russia. The distance from the station to the border with Ukraine is over 1,200 kilometers.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
No air raid alerts have been issued in the region, and Russian authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that fire and rescue units have already been dispatched to the scene.
A Telegram channel also reveals an eyewitness video filmed from one of the city’s streets. The footage shows thick smoke rising above the oil facility.
