Ukraine's Defense Forces struck several key Russian military targets on June 1 and during the night of June 2. Among the targets hit were the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region and a Pantsir-S1 air defense missile and gun system, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Strike on one of the largest oil refineries in southern Russia
The General Staff reported that the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region was hit.
The strike on the target was confirmed, followed by a fire at the refinery. The extent of the damage is being clarified.
Ilsky is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in southern Russia, with a processing capacity of about 6.6 million tons of oil per year. The refinery produces petroleum products used, among other things, to supply the Russian armed forces.
Pantsir-S1, drone depot, and Russian forces' vessel
Among the other targets hit was a Pantsir-S1 air defense missile and gun system near Vydne in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
During the night of June 1, Ukrainian forces also struck a Russian forces' vessel at its basing area near Mizhvodne in temporarily occupied Crimea. According to preliminary information, it was a degaussing vessel. The results of the strike are being clarified.
A drone depot belonging to an enemy unit in Shakhtarske, Donetsk region, was also hit, as well as Russian drone control points in the areas of Ustinka (Russia's Belgorod region), Luhove in Zaporizhzhia region, and Hola Prystan in Kherson region.
Ukrainian forces also carried out strikes against enemy personnel in the areas of Shyrokyne, Berestok, and Komar in the Donetsk region, Maliivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and Lokot in Russia's Kursk region.
Results of previous strikes on Russian oil refineries confirmed
The General Staff also clarified the results of the Neptune cruise missile strike on the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Russia's Rostov region on May 31, 2026.
The strike on two primary oil processing units — AVT-1 and AVT-2 — was confirmed, followed by a fire at the facility.
The results of the May 31 strike on the Saratov oil refinery were also confirmed. The AVT-6 primary oil processing unit was hit there.
Information regarding the Lazarevo linear production dispatch station in Russia's Kirov region was also updated. Two RVS-50000 m³ storage tanks and the buildings of the main pumping stations were damaged.
Ukraine's Defense Forces have been consistently striking Russia's oil refining industry, one of the key components of the country's economy and a source of fuel for the Russian army.
The Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in the Rostov region burned for five days after an attack in late August 2025, and earlier, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces said they had managed to disable the facility.
