Main Intelligence Directorate conducts subversive activities during Russian 'elections' in occupied territories
Representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) are carrying out continuous work on temporarily occupied territories by Russian aggressors, supporting the activities of the partisan movement, and engaging in subversive activities against the fake "elections" of the interveners, states Vadim Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, during a broadcast on the "Yedyni Novymy" telethon."
As noted by a representative of military intelligence, their service monitors what is happening in the areas of Ukraine that are currently under Russian occupation.
"Because there is a resistance movement - we work within the legal framework and support the activities of this movement," he said.
Skibitskyi also stated that within the Main Intelligence Directorate, there is a clear understanding of how to ensure and organize communication, as well as how to provide training and coordinate subversive actions in the occupied territories.
Regarding the illegal "elections" conducted by the Russian occupiers in the temporarily occupied territories, the Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate highlighted that military intelligence has experience with such actions by the Kremlin dating back to 2015.
"These pseudo-elections have started today, and the occupying authorities and collaborators have planned many things, but they did not take into account that the Ukrainian population understands that this is an occupied territory and is resisting," he emphasized.
Fake "elections" in the occupied territories
Russia has decided to once again hold illegal pseudo-elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. According to the invaders, this "voting" is scheduled for September 10.
As previously mentioned by the National Resistance Center (NRC), the occupiers are bringing in "activists," political technologists, and observers from Russia for this purpose. Furthermore, during these dates, the occupiers have also called back all police personnel from vacation in the regions.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleh Nikolenko, stated that Ukraine will propose including the "elections" of the occupiers in the UN General Assembly resolutions. Additionally, Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN has already called on the international community to impose harsh sanctions against Russia in response to such actions.
Meanwhile, explosions are occurring at "electoral" sites of the Russians in the temporarily occupied territories. For example, on September 8, in the Polohy, Zaporizhzhia region, the headquarters of the "Yedyna Rossia" party was destroyed. On the same day, an explosion occurred at a "voting precinct" of the Russians in the occupied Berdiansk.
