Main efforts of Russian army focused in Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions - General Staff
Since the start of July 29, there have been 99 combat clashes on the front. Russian forces are focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Enemy shelling
The Kharkiv region is under attack from enemy aviation. Today, Russia dropped 18 KAB bombs (guided aerial bombs) on the areas of the settlements of Starytsia, Lozova, Vovchanski Khutory, Mali Prokhody, Izbytske, and Prykolodne.
Situation in the directions
Kharkiv direction: Russian troops attempted to storm Ukrainian positions four times in the areas of Hlyboke and Vovchansk. They suffered losses and withdrew.
Kupiansk direction: The enemy made three active assaults on our positions near Stelmakhivka and Pishchane. They also bombarded the areas of Kupiansk and Petropavlivka. Ukrainian forces continue to hold their ground firmly.
Lyman direction: The invading army launched eight attacks on Ukrainian positions near Nevske, Makiivka, and Terny. Six clashes ended unsuccessfully for the enemy, while two are ongoing.
Siversk direction: Near the settlements of Ivanodarivka, Spirne, and Pereizne, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks, while four enemy attempts to advance were unsuccessful. The situation is under control.
Kramatorsk direction: The Russian army carried out four assaults on our positions near Chasiv Yar, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Klishchiivka, and Hryhorivka. Two of these are still ongoing.
Toretsk direction: The number of enemy attacks increased to 12 since the start of the day. The enemy is focusing their efforts around Pivnichne, Zalizne, and New York. Ukrainian forces repelled eight attacks, with the rest ongoing. Toretsk and its surrounding areas were bombarded, with the enemy dropping 8 KAB bombs.
Pokrovsk direction: As usual, the highest number of clashes occurred here. Today, with the support of bomber and assault aviation, the Russian forces made 36 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of ten different settlements. The enemy is most active near Prohres, Novooleksandrivka, Tymofiivka, and Zhelanne.
Defensive forces have repelled 20 attacks so far, with 16 battles still ongoing. Enemy aviation dropped nearly 20 guided bombs in this direction and also fired unguided rockets near Oleksandropil and Novobakhmutivka.
Kurakhove direction: Battles took place near Kostyantynivka, Antonivka, and Paraskoviivka. Today, 17 attacks by the occupying army have been repelled.
Vremivka direction: Ukrainian forces repelled an enemy assault near Velyka Novosilka. Battles are ongoing near Kostyantynivka and Vodiane, with five engagements currently active.
The enemy launched three KAB bombs (guided aerial bombs) near Katerynivka and used unguided rockets near Novodonetske.
Orikhiv direction: The Russian army made three unsuccessful attempts to advance near Mala Tokmachka and faced strong resistance. They fired over 50 unguided rockets towards Kamyanske and Myrne.
Dnipro direction: The enemy did not conduct offensive actions here but bombarded the areas of Lvove, Tyahynka, and Novotyahynka, using seven KAB bombs.
Situation on the front lines and Russian losses
According to the General Staff, on July 28, there were 128 combat engagements on the front lines, with the most intense situation occurring in the Pokrovsk direction.
Over the past day, Defense Forces destroyed another 1,310 enemy personnel. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 576,000 soldiers.
Additionally, 12 tanks, 8 armored fighting vehicles, 74 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment were destroyed yesterday.
