French President Emmanuel Macron, along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, may visit Washington. French government spokesperson Sophie Primas confirmed that such a possibility is being considered.

Speaking after the weekly government meeting, the spokeswoman told reporters that she would not preempt Macron's address to the citizens today. But she added that a trip by the French President with Zelenskyy and Starmer to the United States is being considered.

“It is being considered that President Macron could possibly go back to Washington with President Zelenskyy and with his English counterpart,” Primas said.

Later, she was asked a clarifying question about the expected timing of the visit and who came up with the idea. The spokesperson replied that she did not have the information, but expected it to happen soon.

The government spokesperson added that she believed the meeting would be a French initiative.

Later, an Elysee Palace spokesperson said that there are currently no plans for Macron's visit to Washington. It is Macron's presidential office at the Elysee Palace that deals with his international agenda and foreign policy issues.

Trump and Zelenskyy's quarrel

Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the White House. During his talks with US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, a verbal altercation occurred.

Zelenskyy then left the White House early. Trump accused the Ukrainian President of allegedly not being ready for peace.

After Washington, Zelenskyy arrived in London. A summit on Ukraine was held there. As a result of the talks, it became known that the UK and France would work together with Ukraine on a plan for Ukraine. It will then be presented to US President Donald Trump.

The British Daily Mail reported that Macron and Starmer were ready to visit Washington with Zelenskyy to present the peace plan.
