Violators of European airspace must be prepared to face retaliatory strikes. It is also important to strengthen Europe's defense capabilities in order to minimize any threats, says French President Emmanuel Macron.

"Drones which would violate our territories are just taking a big risk. They can be destroyed, full stop." Macron said, adding that anyone who violates European airspace is liable to face retaliation.

According to him, air incidents in Europe show that the inhabitants of the Old World need effective threat warning systems and close cooperation.

He added that Europe needs early warning systems to anticipate threats, and they exist technically. So this is about innovation, but also about Europe's industrial capacity, the French president added.

Flights of unknown drones

Over the past two weeks, numerous flights of unknown drones over military and infrastructure facilities have been recorded in Poland and northern European countries.

On September 27, drones were spotted near the Ørland airbase in Norway. This is home to a large number of F-35 fighter jets, and NATO exercises have recently been held there.

On the same day, drones were spotted for the second time in Denmark, specifically over airports in Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sennersborg, and in the area of the Skrydstrup airbase.

On September 29, a drone was also spotted flying over the Norwegian gas field Equinor in the North Sea.
