Macron delays appointment of new French Prime Minister
French President Emmanuel Macron has delayed the appointment of a new Prime Minister. Instead, he has decided to consider other candidates, according to Le Figaro journalist Louis Hausalter.
Political journalist Hausalter stated that Macron is inclined to reject the candidacies of Bertrand and Cazeneuve and is looking for other options.
He noted that the decision may be postponed until the end of the week when the Paralympic Games are over.
What's happening in France
Following the European Parliament elections held in early June, French President Emmanuel Macron dissolved the National Assembly (the lower house of parliament) and announced early parliamentary elections.
After the second round of parliamentary elections, French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced his resignation.
Even more than a month and a half after the elections and the resignation of Gabriel Attal’s government, Macron has not yet appointed a new Prime Minister.
