Macron announces when he will accept resignation of Prime Minister and government of France

President of France Emmanuel Macron intends to accept the resignation of Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and his government on July 16th, Le Figaro reports.
According to the news agency, during a meeting at the Élysée Palace with ministers, Macron announced his intention to accept the resignation of his prime minister and government on Tuesday, July 16th, following the last Council of Ministers meeting.
What preceded
On July 7th, the Prime Minister of France, Gabriel Attal, announced that he would resign after the second round of parliamentary elections.
Attal noted that based on preliminary results of the parliamentary elections, the presidential coalition, of which he is a representative, did not secure a majority and is in second place.
"Thus, true to republican traditions and in accordance with my principles, I will submit my resignation to the president tomorrow morning," the Prime Minister said.
