Lithuanian Prime Minister to visit Ukraine this week
Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is heading to Ukraine on Friday, August 23, for a working visit, LRT reports.
The head of the Lithuanian Prime Minister's Office, Ieva Skarelytė, said that Šimonite plans to stay in Ukraine until Sunday.
The program of the visit has not yet been disclosed. This will be Šimonytė's first visit to Ukraine since last November when she met with the Ukrainian leadership and took part in an international forum on Ukrainian grain organized by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Indian Prime Minister's visit to Kyiv
The Office of the President of Ukraine has confirmed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ukraine on August 23, the eve of Independence Day of Ukraine. This will be the first-ever visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine.
During the visit, Modi will meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss bilateral and multilateral cooperation. He is also expected to sign several documents between Ukraine and India.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Modi had refused to play the role of mediator in resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but India still agreed to transmit messages between Zelenskyy and Putin. According to Reuters, in Kyiv, Modi will share his views on the peaceful resolution of the Russia-Ukraine war.
