Latvia delivers a new batch of domestically produced drones to Ukraine

Latvia has delivered a new batch of weapons to Ukraine's Armed Forces. The shipment includes 1,300 drones, specially manufactured at the request of Ukrainian troops, according to a statement by Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds on Twitter (X).
"The next 1,300 drones, manufactured in Latvia, are already on their way to Ukraine. Following this delivery, a total of 12,000 drones worth over 17 million euros will have been supplied to Ukrainians this year," the minister wrote in the post.
Latvia’s support for Ukraine
Recently, Ukraine received its first Patria armored personnel carriers from Latvia as part of ongoing military assistance. In total, Ukraine is expected to receive 42 of these armored vehicles from its Latvian allies.
The Patria 6×6 is an armored personnel carrier developed by the Finnish company Patria. Thanks to its modular design, the Patria 6×6 can perform a wide range of tasks — from transporting infantry to serving as a command post or a mortar platform.
Since 2024, the Patria 6×6 has also been produced in Latvia at a new factory in the city of Valmiera. The project is being implemented in cooperation with Finland, and the first batch has already entered service with the Latvian army.
