The Russian army carried out a massive combined attack with missiles and drones on the Kyiv region during the night of June 17. At least one person has already been reported injured, according to the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk.

"Russia is carrying out a massive attack on the Kyiv region with UAVs and missiles. Civilian settlements are under fire. Unfortunately, a woman born in 1970 was injured in the Vyshhorod district. She sustained a cut wound to her right shoulder," Kalashnyk reported.

The injured woman received the necessary medical assistance. A private house was damaged in the shelling, with windows blown out.

Consequences of the Russian attack were also recorded in the Brovary district of the Kyiv region. The roof of a private house and an outbuilding on the premises of a business caught fire.

Kalashnyk added that more details on the aftermath would be provided later, as the attack was still ongoing.

Strike on Kyiv, June 17

Russian forces launched a massive overnight attack on the Ukrainian capital using Shahed-type attack drones.

During the assault, power outages occurred in private residential areas in the Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi districts of Kyiv. Mayor Vitalii Klychko explained that the blackouts were caused by automatic shutdowns and not direct damage from the strikes.

He also reported that an American citizen died during the raid on Kyiv.

At least 16 people were injured, and the consequences of the attack were recorded at 12 locations across 6 districts of the capital. More details about the strike on Kyiv are available in the RBC-Ukraine report.
