On the night of October 10, a series of powerful explosions were heard in Kyiv. The military reported ballistic activity directed toward the capital, according to the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Air Force.

"Threat of ballistic weapon use from the northeast," the message stated at 2:30 a.m. Kyiv time.

At the same time, a series of very loud explosions occurred in the city. Military authorities urged Kyiv residents to take shelter and later reported that another ballistic object was detected heading toward Kyiv.

By 2:38 a.m. Kyiv time, the Air Force detected a new missile launch, after which explosions were again heard in Kyiv, and electricity was temporarily cut in some districts.

"Attention! The country’s capital is under attack by enemy ballistic missiles and a massive strike by enemy drones. Do not leave shelters until the all-clear," the military reported.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy stated that Russian forces are attacking the city’s energy infrastructure.

Attack on Kyiv

Beginning late in the evening of October 9, Russian forces started attacks on Kyiv. The enemy launched drones toward the capital, resulting in multiple explosions being heard.

In addition, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko officially warned that, due to the massive Russian attack, there could be disruptions to electricity and water supply in the city.
