New meetings between the Ukrainian and US negotiating teams on the peace plan will take place in the near future, according to Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
"I can confirm that a meeting of the negotiating teams should be expected soon. What are our expectations? Our expectations are concrete results. Concrete results that will allow progress to be made," Sybiha said.
He noted that achieving a ceasefire is extremely important for Ukraine, and the country has demonstrated this many times.
According to the minister, all efforts—both by the negotiating teams and by diplomats—are now focused on ensuring this peace process moves forward.
"Yes, the Ukrainian side is interested in contacts at the highest level—a meeting between President Zelenskyy and President Trump. Because there are issues, the most sensitive issues, that can only be discussed at the level of leaders," Sybiha added.
Talks in Geneva
As a reminder, the media recently published a new US peace plan aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. It consisted of 28 points, most of which contradict Ukraine’s interests.
On November 23, Ukrainian and American delegations held talks in Geneva on the US peace plan for ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.
After the talks, the Financial Times reported that the document had been significantly shortened—from 28 points down to 19.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump claimed the plan had been reduced to 22 points.
The Ukrainian delegation said after the meeting that there was "a shared understanding of the key conditions of the agreement," and indicated that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the United States could take place "at the earliest possible date in November" for further negotiations with Trump.
