Kyiv Administration reports how many Shahed drones shot down by air defense
During the night, air defense forces in Kyiv successfully neutralized all Russian strike drones that the enemy had targeted at the capital. This involved approximately fifteen Shahed drones, according to Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Distinctive feature of the drone attack on Kyiv
The official noted that Russian forces launched kamikaze drones at Kyiv from the Kursk region and Krasnodar territory.
"The capital faced two major waves of barrage munitions. The first air raid alert in Kyiv was declared around midnight, and the second around three in the morning. In total, the nighttime alerts lasted approximately four hours," reported the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
He added that this air attack on Kyiv from Russia marked the 15th since the beginning of October, with the enemy relying solely on unmanned aerial vehicles for this assault.
Repelling the Shahed attack
"During this time, up to a dozen enemy drones that posed a threat to the capital of Ukraine were detected and neutralized through various means, including air defense and electronic warfare," the official stated.
He also urged the public to await information from the command of the Ukrainian Air Force regarding the exact number and types of enemy drones.
Consequences of the airstrike in the capital
As for the aftermath, debris from the enemy's air assault was reported to have fallen in Kyiv, particularly in the Darnytskyi district, igniting fires in open areas involving trees and grass.
"The fire was quickly extinguished. There have been no reports of injuries. Operational updates are being clarified," the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.
Night attack with Shahed drones on Kyiv
As previously reported, last night, October 24, a group of kamikaze drones was launched by the Russian army towards Ukraine for yet another attack. Air raid alerts were declared across several regions, including the capital.
Explosions were heard in Kyiv amid the Shahed attack.
Additionally, on the night of October 25, air defense operations were also active in the Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa regions.
Around 4 a.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration reported debris from downed kamikaze drones falling in Kyiv, which resulted in fires in open areas.
