President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held two meetings today. They were attended by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and other military commanders, reported Zelenskyy in his Telegram channel.
According to Zelenskyy, the first meeting was attended by Syrskyi and the Chief of the General Staff, Anatolii Barhylevych. They discussed the front line, particularly the situation in Pokrovsk and Toretsk.
"Supporting our brigades and specific defensive actions. I thank all the units that are fighting steadfastly on the front lines," Zelenskyy wrote.
The issue of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operations in the Kursk region was also raised.
The second meeting was attended by Syrskyi, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk, the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov, and Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin. However, the President did not disclose details of this meeting.
"The only thing worth noting is my gratitude to all our developers and manufacturers of long-range weapons. We are strengthening Ukraine’s long-range capabilities," Zelenskyy wrote.
The situation in the Pokrovsk direction
The Russian army continues its offensive along the entire front line. The Pokrovsk direction remains the most intense. Russian forces have advanced within 11 kilometers of Pokrovsk. A prolonged curfew and civilian evacuation were announced in the town.
Syrskyi stated that in the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian forces are actively using their advantage in manpower and military equipment. Over 50 combat engagements occur daily, with Russian losses reaching up to 300 soldiers.
Zelenskyy also announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would reinforce the Pokrovsk direction due to the escalation in this sector of the front.
