Kupiansk faces heavy destruction from Russian airstrikes, infrastructure devastated
Kupiansk is experiencing severe destruction from Russian airstrikes, particularly from guided aerial bombs. Significant damage has been recorded in the city, states Andriy Besedin, head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration, during broadcast on the We Ukraine channel.
He noted that Russian troops are using guided aerial bombs (KABs) weighing up to 1.5 tons, which destroy everything within a one-kilometer radius, particularly in the central part of Kupiansk.
"Other KABs weighing 250-500 kg are being used constantly, especially in the left bank area, which is effectively already destroyed," Besedin added.
The head of the military administration emphasized that all critical and civilian infrastructure, including enterprises, has been destroyed, and the enemy continues to adhere to a scorched earth tactic.
Situation in the Kharkiv region
Fighting continues in the Kharkiv region in two directions – in the northern part of the region and around Kupiansk.
Russian troops regularly shell settlements near the border and the front line, with Kharkiv being under constant attack. On the night of September 19, the occupiers struck the city twice: first with ballistic missiles and then with aerial bombs. As a result of the attacks, destruction and fires occurred in the city.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 22 attacks in the past day, during which the occupiers actively used aviation. However, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled assaults in the areas of Lozova, Petropavlivka, and other settlements.
