Kremlin says Putin-Trump meeting is necessary

US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin have to meet but there are no plans for such a meeting for now, Interfax reports citing Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
“We believe that it is certainly necessary in many ways. It must be prepared accordingly, and it requires efforts at various levels of expertise. It requires continuing contacts between Moscow and Washington, which have been launched and are now ongoing, but there are no specifics on that yet,” Peskov said.
According to him, Putin has no plans to travel to the Middle East, where Trump is going to stay on May 13-16.
Trump-Putin talks
On March 18, Trump had his first phone call with Putin. They discussed a ceasefire at all energy and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
In late February, Le Point wrote that US President Donald Trump might come to Moscow on May 9 to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Trump responded later to such rumors that he was not traveling to Moscow on May 9.
Trump has already stated several times that he intends to visit Saudi Arabia. It became known recently that he would visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE on May 13-16.
