Kremlin responds to US invitation for Putin to attend G20

The invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the G20 summit in the United States has received a positive response from the Kremlin, Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
According to Peskov, the Kremlin welcomed the invitation from the US. At the same time, no final decision on Putin’s participation in the summit has been announced yet.
"The Kremlin welcomes the US invitation to the Russian president to attend the G20 summit. This issue will be considered through diplomatic channels," Peskov said.
The US invited Russian leader Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit in Miami, which will take place on December 14-15. Washington hopes that he will personally attend the meeting of the G20 leaders.
At the same time, Bloomberg previously reported that Putin’s participation in the G20 summit in Florida was considered unlikely. Instead, he was planning to attend the APEC summit in China on November 18-19.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was ready to meet with Putin on the sidelines of the summit in Miami.
