US invites Putin to G20 summit, where Zelenskyy offered to meet him

The United States has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit in Miami. The summit will take place in December, according to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who made the statement on the American television network One America News.

According to Rubio, the US has invited Putin to attend the G20 summit in Miami, scheduled for December 14-15, 2026.

Washington hopes that the Russian leader will accept the invitation and personally attend the meeting of the leaders of the Group of Twenty.

If Putin attends the summit, it could create an opportunity for him to meet with US President Donald Trump. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could also be among the participants.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Putin plans to attend the APEC summit in China on November 18-19, while his participation in the G20 summit in Florida was considered unlikely.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is ready to meet with Putin on the sidelines of the summit in Miami.
