Kremlin responds to possible new Ukraine-Russia-US talks in September

Russian leader's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin was unaware of any plans or specific timing for the next round of trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine.

He made the statement in response to remarks by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov about a possible new meeting between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in September.

Thus, the Russian side has not yet confirmed that talks will take place during the specified period and has not named a possible date for the next round.

Earlier, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that a new meeting between representatives of Ukraine and Russia could take place in September. This statement prompted journalists to question the Russian president's press secretary.

Talks remain in focus

The possibility of new contacts between representatives of Ukraine and Russia remains under discussion amid attempts to determine the future format of the negotiation process.

At present, the Russian side has not publicly confirmed that another meeting will take place in September. No specific timing has been announced for the next round of trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine either.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that the most favorable period for a diplomatic end to the war could last from the G20 summit in the United States in December until the end of summer 2027. According to him, this period will be the most active stage for diplomacy, as preparations for the presidential election will begin in the United States afterward.
