Kremlin responds to calls pressuring India to stop buying Russian oil

The Kremlin has called the messages to pressure India and other countries into giving up Russian oil purchases "actual threats" and claimed they are "not legitimate," according to Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
In particular, Peskov said the Kremlin hears many statements which, in his words, are "actual threats" and attempts "to force certain countries to cut off trade relations with Russia."
The Russian Presidential Press Secretary emphasized that Moscow does not consider such calls "legitimate" and insists that sovereign states must "independently choose their trade partners and the formats of economic cooperation that align with their national interests."
Trump's deadline
US President Donald Trump recently promised to hit Russia with 100% secondary tariffs if it does not agree to peace with Ukraine within 50 days.
Last week, the American leader toughened his position - the deadline has been significantly shortened. Now, secondary tariffs and sanctions threaten Russia if it refuses peace by August 8.
In addition, Trump has not yet clarified what exact restrictions he intends to impose against Russia, apart from the 100% secondary tariffs.
And just yesterday, Trump announced that he would significantly raise tariffs against India.
The American leader emphasized that Delhi does not care how many Ukrainians have died due to Russian aggression.
