Kherson administration urges residents of the left bank to evacuate
Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin has urged the residents of the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region, which is currently under Russian control, to evacuate to territory controlled by Ukraine.
He noted that while our defenders are making superhuman efforts to liberate the occupied part of the region from Russian tyranny, the residents of the left bank must ensure their own safety and that of their loved ones.
"For the Russian army, you are a 'human shield.' The occupiers employ a vile tactic because they know that the Ukrainian army will not fight its own people. Therefore, please temporarily leave the communities located on the front line or evacuate to the territory under Ukrainian control," emphasized Prokudin.
Immediately upon leaving the occupied territory, it is necessary to call the region's contact center at 0 800 101 102.
Situation on the left bank of the Kherson region
The left bank of the Kherson region is still occupied by Russian forces.
Earlier, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) announced that Ukrainian forces had landed on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region and allegedly broke through the Russian defense up to 800 meters inland.
However, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine later refuted information about the alleged breakthrough by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In addition, the Main Intelligence Directorate reported that reconnaissance soldiers of the "Shaman" battalion conducted a raid on the left bank of the Kherson region and destroyed a unit of Russian missile troops.
Former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar stated that Ukrainian military personnel were performing certain tasks in the area of the left bank of the Kherson region. Work is currently underway, but the defenders require a period of information silence.
