Kharkiv suffers damage and injuries after Russian strike

Late on October 5, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Kharkiv. The strike caused damage and left several people injured, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
Starting around 10:44 PM, several series of explosions were heard across Kharkiv as the city came under a prolonged drone attack that lasted nearly an hour.
"According to our Situation Center, Kharkiv was attacked by enemy drones 15 times. Preliminary reports indicate that the Novobavarskyi district came under fire," Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.
He added that the consequences of the strikes were still being clarified, though there was already information about damaged houses in the private sector.
Later, around 11:30 PM, another explosion was reported in the city. A few minutes later, the mayor confirmed another strike by a combat drone, this time targeting the Shevchenkivskyi district. The extent of the damage is being verified.
Casualties
The first information about casualties came from regional governor Oleh Syniehubov, who stated:
"Three people suffered an acute stress reaction as a result of the drone attack on Kharkiv. They are receiving the necessary medical assistance."
Shortly afterward, Ihor Terekhov also reported two, and later three, injured individuals.
"The number of injured in Kharkiv has increased to four. A 63-year-old man sought medical help and is receiving treatment," Syniehubov clarified at 00:55 AM.
Previous attacks
In the early hours of October 1, Russian forces struck Kharkiv and the surrounding region with missiles and guided aerial bombs. The attack caused fires and destruction, leaving several people injured.
Damage was recorded in the Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts. The Barabashovo market caught fire, a residential building and garages were destroyed, and six people were injured.
