US Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg praised Volodymyr Zelenskyy following the Ukrainian president's phone conversation with President Donald Trump.

The US Special Envoy for Ukraine commented on the call between Trump and Zelenskyy, writing, "Good. This is classic Donald Trump. Always willing to engage."

Kellogg also thanked Zelenskyy for expressing condolences over the deadly flooding in Texas and the loss of life, especially among young people.

"Both Presidents recognize the pain of the loss of the young in peace and war. Compassion is a key part of leadership," Kellogg added.

Zelenskyy–Trump conversation

As reported earlier, on July 4, US President Donald Trump held a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They discussed Russian airstrikes and the situation on the front line.

Axios reported that the 40-minute conversation focused mainly on Ukraine’s air defense needs. Trump later said the US was considering providing Patriot missiles to Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said it was the best conversation he has had with Trump to date.
