Kellogg on Ukraine and Russia: Everything could be solved in months
President-elect Donald Trump is the only person who can stop the war in Ukraine, stated US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg on Fox.
Kellogg was asked whether the United States could invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin to Washington for negotiations.
In response, Kellogg said he wouldn't be surprised if Donald Trump did something like that.
"President Trump plays three-level chess, and I wouldn't be surprised if he did something like that. Could he do it? Of course, he could do it. He'd made such a bold move. I really do believe this is going to be solved within the next few months. Because the only person who can do it is President Donald J. Trump. And he will do it," Kellogg said.
According to him, the idea of organizing such a meeting is “really pretty good."
"I wouldn't put anything beyond the realm of possible that he would do that, and I wouldn't be surprised," Kellogg added.
Trump appoints Kellogg as special envoy for Ukraine
In late November, US President-elect Donald Trump announced his nomination of retired General Keith Kellogg as Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia. Kellogg later stated that he planned to work tirelessly to ensure peace through strength.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs positively evaluated Trump's decision to appoint Kellogg as the Special Envoy for Ukraine.
