How Kate Middleton honored Princess Diana
The centerpiece of her evening look was the legendary Lover's Knot tiara, which once belonged to Princess Diana.
This piece was created by the jewelry house Garrard in 1914 at the order of Queen Mary. It is encrusted with pearls and diamonds from the royal family's collection.

The tiara is considered one of the most valuable items in the royal treasury and has special symbolism. After Diana died in 1997, it was kept in the Buckingham Palace safe for a long time before being passed on to Kate.
The headpiece is estimated to be worth around £1 million.
Queen Elizabeth gave the tiara to Princess Diana for her royal wedding in 1981. However, she politely declined to wear it, as it was so heavy that it caused headaches.

She appeared at the event in a long golden gown with a handmade lace cape by Phillipa Lepley.

She wore her hair down and added drop earrings to complete the outfit.
