As of 6:00 a.m. on 5 September, one Russian cruise missile carrier of the Kalibr type is in the Black Sea, with a possible salvo of up to four missiles, according to the Ukrainian Navy.

In contrast, there are no enemy ships in the Sea of Azov. However, one vessel has been detected in the Mediterranean Sea, though it is not a Kalibr cruise missile carrier.

The military also reported that over the past 24 hours, in the interests of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:

  • to the Black Sea: 8 ships, 7 of which continued toward the Bosporus Strait;
  • to the Sea of Azov: 11 ships, 4 of which were coming from the Bosporus Strait.

"Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling Automatic Identification Systems (AIS)," added the Ukrainian Navy.

It is worth noting that during a large-scale attack on Ukraine early last week, the Ukrainian Navy recorded four Kalibr missile carriers in the Black Sea on August 26, with a total salvo of up to 28 missiles. All missiles were launched at Ukrainian territory, but air defense forces successfully intercepted them.
