Italy to invest €200 million in rebuilding Ukraine's power grid
Italy decided to allocate €200 million to rebuild the Ukrainian power grid, which was damaged by Russian shelling, according to Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Tajani emphasized that Rome intends to assist Ukraine in rebuilding the power grid destroyed by Russian attacks.
He further underscored that Italy cannot allow "General Winter" to become an ally of Russia.
The Italian foreign minister also revealed plans to host a conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction in Rome in 2025.
The Italy-Ukraine Business Forum featured notable participants, including Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, Italy’s Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, President of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) Matteo Zoppas, and Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense Luisa Riccardi.
Several Memorandums of Understanding were scheduled for signing at the session's conclusion.
"The Forum, which will be attended by many guests, including representatives of the business world, leading financial institutions, and trade associations, is a preparatory event in view of the Ukraine Recovery Conference to be held in Rome on 10 and 11 July 2025," the Italian Foreign Ministry said.
