Italian Parliament supports continuation of military aid to Ukraine
The Italian parliament has voted to continue supplying military aid to Ukraine in 2025, ANSA reports.
According to the agency, the Lower House of the Italian Parliament has finally approved a resolution on Ukraine, which authorizes the continuation of arms supplies to Kyiv until December 31, 2025.
The decision, which has already been approved by the Senate, was adopted with 192 votes in favor and 41 against.
The opposition was split on the issue: three parties voted in favor and two voted against.
Italy's assistance to Ukraine
Italy has been supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
The Italian authorities have extended the authorization for the supply of military aid to Ukraine several times.
It was previously reported that the Italian government supported the extension of the authorization for the supply of military aid to Ukraine. To continue supplying weapons, parliamentary approval was required.
Also in December 2024, it became known that the Italian government had approved the 10th military aid package to Ukraine.
Recently, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that another package of weapons from Italy was on its way.
