Italian government approves continued arms supply to Ukraine
The Italian government has supported the extension of the authorization for military aid to Ukraine. To continue arms supplies, parliamentary approval is required, ANSA reports.
The government supported the decree, which contains “urgent provisions for the extension of the authorization for the transfer of military vehicles, materials and equipment to the government authorities of Ukraine”.
The continuation of military aid will still require the approval of the Italian Parliament.
The authorization for the supply of arms to Ukraine from Italy is valid until the end of 2024.
Assistance from Italy
Italy has been helping Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
The Italian authorities have repeatedly extended the authorization to supply Ukraine with military aid.
On December 16, it was also reported that the Italian government had approved the 10th package of military aid to Ukraine.
The specific list of weapons that Italy will provide to Ukraine as part of the new aid package remains confidential.
