It has become known who Trump will send to Ukraine-Russia negotiations in Istanbul

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Istanbul for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, scheduled for this Thursday, states US President Donald Trump during his speech at the US-Saudi investment forum.
During his speech, Trump stated that the US is relentlessly working to end the horrific bloodshed between Russia and Ukraine. Therefore, it is very important that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are set to take place in Türkiye, likely on Thursday, at the end of this week.
In his view, these talks could lead to very positive results.
"Our people are going to be going there. Marco's (Rubio - ed.) going to be going there. Others are going to be going, and we'll see if we can get it done," Trump said.
Shortly before this, several media outlets reported that US Special Representatives Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg would be present in Türkiye.
Previously, it was mentioned that President Trump himself might attend the negotiations, but this would depend on whether Russian President Vladimir Putin travels to Türkiye.
Ukraine-Russia negotiations and Trump’s plans
Recently, Putin proposed that Ukraine hold talks in Istanbul on Thursday, May 15. This was his response to the idea of a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed to Putin's idea but stated that he is waiting for Putin himself to attend the negotiations in Istanbul.
It is currently unknown whether Putin will fly to Istanbul, as Russian representatives have not provided a clear answer.
According to the advisor to the head of the Office of the President, Mykhailo Podolyak, in Istanbul, Zelenskyy is only willing to negotiate with Putin, not other Russian officials.
