Israeli MoD: Hamas militants need to start counting days until end of their lives
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has stated that Hamas militants should not expect Israeli forces to leave the Gaza Strip soon. He advises them to start counting the days until the end of their lives on earth, writes The Times of Israel.
"In the north of the Gaza Strip, forces are completing the current mission. They are reorganizing with the intention of carrying out raids and airstrikes soon," the minister said.
He stated that in the central part of Gaza, the battles are very intense.
"The forces are working above ground and underground, destroying central infrastructures of the Hamas organization, including the places where Hamas produced all its missiles and supplied them all over the Strip," he explained.
Gallant added that a powerful operation is underway in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, becoming increasingly robust both above and below ground.
"Those terrorists who started counting down the time to the departure of the IDF forces, need to change the count, they need to start counting until the end of their lives on earth, it will come soon," the minister added.
Israel-Hamas War
On October 7, Hamas militants invaded Israel. Terrorists began killing and kidnapping both military and civilian individuals. Shortly afterward, Jerusalem announced Operation Iron Swords and shelled terrorist locations in the Gaza Strip.
On November 24, a temporary ceasefire for the release of prisoners began between Jerusalem and the militants, with Qatar acting as a mediator. Already on December 1, fighting resumed, according to Israel, due to a violation of the ceasefire conditions by Hamas.
On December 20, Israel offered Palestinians to agree to a ceasefire for a week. But Hamas rejected the proposal.
Then, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu outlined three conditions that must be met to end the war against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.
