Israel threatens Iran over potential ceasefire violation

Israel will respond decisively to any ceasefire violation by Iran, said the country’s UN envoy, Danny Danon, during a UN Security Council meeting, according to CNN.
During a UN Security Council meeting, Israel’s UN envoy, Danny Danon, reiterated that Israel would respond firmly to any violations of the ceasefire by Iran. He followed other Israeli officials in thanking US President Donald Trump for his role in brokering the agreement.
Danon stated that Israel had dealt a serious blow to Iran by targeting regime-linked sites and said that while it was too early for diplomatic talks with Tehran, he believed they could happen soon. He also noted it was premature to assess the damage to Iran’s nuclear facilities but claimed the strikes had set back Iran’s nuclear ambitions and neutralized an imminent threat.
He further hinted that Israel was open to forming new ties with Arab nations, emphasizing the importance of building bridges and forging new partnerships in the Middle East.
Israel-Iran ceasefire
While Trump announced that the ceasefire had taken effect and Tehran initially agreed, Iran soon launched six rocket barrages at Israel. Trump condemned the breach ahead of his departure for the NATO summit.
