Israel reports missile attack from Yemen, sirens sounded in multiple cities

Israeli military forces detected the launch of a missile from Yemen's territory last night, heading towards the country. Thanks to the operation of Israel's missile defense systems, the hostile aerial target was intercepted, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli news outlet Newsru.co.il.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense clarified that the missile was ballistic and informed that air defense systems were activated to intercept the target.
"The missile was intercepted prior to crossing into Israeli territory. Sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol," the IDF spokesperson said.
There is no information regarding potential casualties or damage from the attack. Medical services have not reported any calls related to the strike.
Meanwhile, Israeli media are noting that sirens were heard overnight in central and southern parts of the country.
Specifically, sirens were audible in Jerusalem, Modi'in, Beit Shemesh, Lod, Ramla, Rehovot, Rishon Lezion, Petah Tikva, Beersheba, and many other towns.
According to Newsru.co.il, the warning system in Israel once again failed.
Other missile strikes by Houthi forces
Houthi militants frequently carry out airstrikes on Israeli territory. The most recent attacks took place on April 23, 18, and 13, as well as on March 30, 27, 24, 23, 20, and 18.
The resumption of strikes by the Houthis occurred on March 18 after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a new phase of military operations against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Before that, the Iran-backed Houthis had refrained from targeting Israeli territory during the two-month ceasefire period in the Palestinian enclave, from January 18 to March 17, 2025.
Additionally, it is important to remember that on March 25, in addition to the rocket attacks from the Houthis, Hamas militants also joined in the assault. On that day, Israel was attacked three times by rockets from both Yemen and the Gaza Strip, with the IDF successfully destroying all hostile targets.
