Israel is waiting for US approval to strike Iranian energy facilities, with attacks possibly imminent, Sky News reports.
"Israel is preparing to attack Iranian energy facilities but is awaiting a green light from the US," a senior Israeli Defense Ministry official told the outlet.
He added that any such strikes are likely to occur within the next week.
These comments came after US President Donald Trump issued Iran another ultimatum.
In his statement, Trump said Iran has 48 hours to reach an agreement or reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Otherwise, the country would face "hell."
Middle East conflict
The US-Israeli operation against Iran began in late February and has now been ongoing for more than a month.
Recently, President Trump stated that Washington aims to end the war within two to three weeks. In his national speech, he said Iran would face a devastating strike during this period, adding that the country would be "brought back to the Stone Age."
On the same day, Trump announced that US-Israeli forces destroyed Iran's largest bridge, B1, connecting Tehran and Karaj. He reiterated his call for Iran to reach an agreement.
The US president has repeatedly claimed that Iran requested a ceasefire from the United States, although Tehran denies this.
