The US has outlined approximate timelines for the end of the military operation against Iran, which began on February 28, states US President Donald Trump.

Donald Trump stated that the key objectives of the US operation against Iran are close to being achieved. However, the American leader did not specify an exact date for the end of the war.

A statement was also made regarding the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Donald Trump said that the US did not need the Strait of Hormuz and that it should be handled by those who used it to transport oil.

At the same time, Trump outlined approximate timelines for continuing military operations in Iran.

"Very shortly, we are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We're going to bring them back to the Stone Age, where they belong," Trump stated.

What else did Trump say

  1. According to him, all nuclear facilities where Iran intended to continue its program have been completely destroyed.
  2. Trump emphasized that Iran had been rapidly stockpiling conventional ballistic weapons that could reach Europe, the United States, and other regions of the world.
  3. The American president stressed that Iran's goal was to produce as many weapons and missiles with the maximum range as possible.
  4. Iran, according to Trump, was on the verge of possessing nuclear weapons, despite years of US warnings.
  5. Trump stated that the regime in Iran is gradually changing, as many of the country's regional leaders are dead, and the threat of elimination of new leaders remains in the absence of an agreement.
  6. The US leader added that any attempts by Iran to restart its nuclear program will be immediately detected and suppressed with new strikes.

Key moments of the US conflict with Iran

Start of the war: On February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel launched a sudden, large-scale campaign called Epic Fury In the first 12 hours, approximately 900 strikes were carried out against Iran. The main targets were missile launchers, air defense systems, and military infrastructure.

Elimination of Iran's leader: A targeted strike killed Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as a number of other senior Iranian officials. The successor to the supreme leader became his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.

Iran's response: Iran immediately launched a massive retaliatory strike, firing hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones at Israel and US military bases throughout the region (in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE). Iranian strikes on the region are still ongoing.

Oil blockade: Iran blocked shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. This led to disruptions in energy supplies and a sharp spike in global oil prices. The Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, and the US is shifting responsibility to its allies.

What is Ukraine's role in the conflict between the US and Iran

Assistance in countering Shahed drones: Faced with swarms of Iranian drones, several Middle Eastern countries turned to Ukraine as the leading expert in countering such threats. Kyiv sent over 200 specialists to the region to assist in combating drones.

Security cooperation: Currently, as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported, Ukraine is actively cooperating with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. Work is also ongoing with Jordan, and communication continues with Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq. Kyiv has already concluded a number of historic agreements with countries in the region.
