US and Israeli forces destroyed Iran’s largest bridge — B1, which connected Tehran and Karaj, US President Donald Trump said on Truth Social.

"The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again — much more to follow! It is time for Iran to make a deal before it is too late, and there is nothing left of what still could become a great country!" Trump wrote.

On April 2, Israel said a strategically important bridge on the B1 highway in northern Iran had been destroyed. This was later confirmed by Iran’s state news agency Fars, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Photos and videos circulating online also suggest that the bridge, reportedly officially opened in 2026, was heavily damaged. Two strikes were carried out to ensure it was put out of operation.

The governor of Alborz province said two people were killed in the first strike on the bridge, while several others were injured. There were no reports on the consequences of the second strike.

Trump demands peace from Iran

While Trump continues to pressure Iran, Tehran has put forward a new condition for ending the war. Iran is seeking recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, which would bring it billions of dollars.

At the same time, media reports say Trump told his aides he is ready to end the war against Iran, even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed.

Earlier, Trump said the US and Iran were holding indirect talks that were progressing well, adding that a deal could be reached very quickly. However, less than 12 hours later, he put forward new demands.

According to Trump, if Iran does not agree to a deal and immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the United States will strike and completely destroy all power plants, oil fields, and Kharg Island. He also admitted that a deal may not be reached. Tehran continues to reject US demands.
