The escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran is rapidly approaching a "point of no return." Such a situation could affect not only the Middle East, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to The Times of Israel.

"Unfortunately, the genocide in Gaza and the conflict with Iran are quickly reaching the point of no return. This madness must end as soon as possible," Erdoğan said.

According to him, the consequences could affect the region, Europe, and Asia "for many years" to come.

Israel-Iran war

It has been a week since the start of Israel's military operation against Iran. Israel has been targeting Iran's military infrastructure and nuclear facilities with precision strikes.

The primary objective of the Israeli military is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Notably, during the night of June 20, around 50 Israeli fighter jets launched an attack on Tehran, striking several nuclear sites.

In response, on June 20 during the day, Iran launched ballistic missile strikes on several Israeli cities. At least two people were reported injured following a strike in Haifa.
