Israeli forces have stopped carrying out attacks on Iran after an exchange of strikes between the two countries, stated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to The Times of Israel.

Suspension of strikes

The Prime Minister noted that he instructed the military to strike Iranian military and economic targets after Iran attacked Israeli territory.

"At present, the fire on this front has been halted because after the terrorist regime in Tehran was struck, it stopped attacking us," Netanyahu said.

He assured that if the Iranian regime resumes attacks on Israel, the country will respond with force.

Netanyahu added that the military will continue operations in southern Lebanon to "destroy all of the terrorist infrastructure in the security zone, including massive underground facilities in the Beaufort Ridge."

Message to Trump

"Over the past day, Iran and Hezbollah tried to impose a new equation on us. That equation is intolerable and completely unacceptable to me. They thought they could launch attacks from Lebanon and Iran against Israel and that we would not act. That did not happen, and it will not happen. Not on my watch," the Israeli leader said.

According to Netanyahu, he conveyed this message to US President Donald Trump.

"Israel has every right to self-defense, and we will exercise that right whenever necessary. I say this to you, dear citizens of Israel, just as I say it in my good conversations with my friend President Trump," the Prime Minister emphasized.

Israel-Iran strikes

On the evening of June 7, Iran launched missiles at Israel. It was the first such attack since April.

In response, the Israeli army struck targets in western and central parts of Iran.

Israeli authorities effectively ignored a call from US President Donald Trump, who urged Israel not to carry out a retaliatory strike.
