An Israeli Air Force officer, a lieutenant colonel in intelligence, reported that Iran has at its disposal more than 1,000 long-range missiles, and the Hezbollah group in Lebanon has between 8,000 and 10,000 short-range missiles, which makes it possible for prolonged military operations in the region to last for several months, according to Bloomberg.
Missile arsenals and threat assessments
According to Israeli military briefings, Iran maintains more than 1,000 missiles capable of striking Israeli territory.
Estimates regarding Hezbollah's arsenal indicate the presence of up to 10,000 short-range projectiles, the launch of which continues daily from Lebanon.
The intelligence lieutenant colonel noted that neutralizing these threats requires significant resources and that the complete destruction of the arsenals is practically impossible.
Potential for prolonged military operations
Given the intense rocket attacks by Iran and Hezbollah, which have been ongoing for more than five weeks, Israel is preparing for military operations lasting several months.
Iranian missiles are launched from underground tunnel shafts in mountainous areas, which significantly complicates their destruction.
According to Israeli intelligence, before the start of the conflict, Iran had approximately 2,000 medium-range ballistic missiles, of which more than 500 have already been used during the attack.
Attacks from Lebanon and protective measures
Israel is conducting active operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, from where 200–250 rockets are launched daily. The majority of strikes are concentrated in southern Lebanon, but some reach northern Israel.
The shelling forces tens of thousands of civilians to remain in shelters; however, the army is improving early warning systems to increase evacuation time.
Return to civilian life
Despite the threats, authorities are gradually restoring daily life: plans are underway to resume in-person schooling, the number of flights is increasing, and cinemas are operating with restrictions.
Israeli forces continue to ensure the protection of the population while maintaining stability amid constant rocket threats.
US President Donald Trump stated that he is ready to destroy all of Iran's power plants if the country's leaders do not reach an agreement to restore operations in the Strait of Hormuz by the evening of April 7.
US President Donald Trump suggested that a deal with Iran could be reached as early as Monday, April 6, warning that otherwise he intends to use force and destroy the country's facilities.
