"There is information about a possible drone threat to Paphos region. Do not come to the Embassy unless of an emergency," the statement says.
The US Embassy in Nicosia urges US citizens in Cyprus to remain vigilant and cautious.
In particular, they are advised to immediately seek shelter in the event of explosions or sirens.
If people are inside a building, they should go to the lowest floor, away from windows and exterior walls.
If they are outside, they should find a reinforced structure or lie on the ground and cover their heads with their hands.
Even if the target is intercepted, debris can pose a danger.
Separately, they advise avoiding areas near military facilities and government buildings, staying away from windows, and not going outside unnecessarily during active air raid alerts.
Meanwhile, according to the Cypriot government, Iran has attacked a British military base on the island for the second time.
This refers to the Akrotiri Air Force Base. Two drones heading for the facility were successfully intercepted.
According to eyewitnesses, about an hour ago, air raid sirens sounded again at the base, which had already been attacked by Iranian drones during the night.
Against the backdrop of the escalating situation, Greece is sending two warships to Cyprus to protect the island. It is also reported that a pair of F-16 fighter jets has been dispatched.
Iran's attack on British military base in Cyprus
On March 1, Iran launched two ballistic missiles toward Cyprus, where British military bases are located. Both missiles either fell into the Mediterranean Sea or were intercepted while approaching the island.
On the night of March 2, explosions were heard in Cyprus. Residents reported that they heard near the airbase, and air raid sirens were also heard.
Later, media reports said that one of the explosions was linked to a strike by an Iranian drone. At the same time, there is currently no information about casualties as a result of the attack.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer made a video address. He said that London had agreed to provide the US with its military bases for an attack on Iran.
