Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf delivered a major speech in which he detailed the internal dynamics of a high-stakes geopolitical confrontation, describing diplomacy as a continuation of active struggle, according to Royanews.
Diplomacy restored security
Ghalibaf stressed that the main goal of any state strategy should be to achieve its core national objectives and restore basic stability.
He noted that although he remained in constant contact with military commanders on the ground as they prepared for an inevitable strike, the remarkable success of the diplomatic channel ultimately changed the outcome, immediately restoring security to the region.
The tangible success of this diplomatic victory is already visible on the ground in Lebanon, Ghalibaf said.
The Iranian parliament speaker emphasized that within the first 24 hours after the announced ceasefire, more than 50 percent of citizens who had been displaced by heavy fighting had already successfully returned to their homes.
Concluding his remarks, Ghalibaf praised the professional staff of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for carrying out complex diplomatic maneuvers, while emphasizing that his own approach remains rooted in his experience as a soldier.
"I have experience in diplomatic work, but diplomacy is not my profession," he concluded.
"I am a fighter, but with the spirit and culture of a warrior, I follow the path of diplomacy as well," the politician added.
On June 17, the United States published the official text of the memorandum of understanding with Iran reached last weekend.
However, United States President Donald Trump had previously stated that Washington could resume strikes on Iran if nuclear negotiations with Tehran reach a dead end.
