Russia strikes Epicentr hypermarket in Ukraine's Chernihiv region

Russian troops struck the Epicentr shopping center in Pryluky, Chernihiv region, during the day. Law enforcement and relevant agencies are currently working directly at the scene of the Russian attack, documenting the aftermath of the strike and determining the circumstances of the incident, according to the Chernihiv region police.
Following the Russian attack, police investigative and operational teams, bomb disposal experts, and representatives of other relevant agencies arrived at the shopping center. Law enforcement officers are carrying out initial response measures, examining the scene, and documenting the aftermath of the Russian strike on a civilian facility.
The police are also securing the area around Epicentr. This is necessary to ensure safety and preserve evidence that may be relevant to the ongoing investigation.
Police issued safety warning
Law enforcement officials urged residents not to approach the area that was struck. Citizens are asked to maintain a safe distance and to be aware of the ongoing threat of a repeat Russian attack.
In addition, the police reminded the public not to ignore air raid sirens. When a danger alert is issued, people should follow established safety rules and comply with the recommendations of the relevant authorities.
On September 4, Russian forces attacked the Epicentr shopping mall in Mykolaiv six times over the course of a day. After the first strikes, ten employees spent nearly a day trying to save the building from the fire: they extinguished blazes, climbed onto the roof, went inside, and sealed damaged pipes. After subsequent strikes, it was no longer possible to save the shopping mall.
