Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that no attack by the US will remain without a response. His statement was made after the US launched a wave of retaliatory strikes for the downed helicopter, according to the official's post on social media platform X and CNN.
"Despite its defeats on the battlefield, the U.S. opted to test our determination. Our Powerful Armed Forces will leave no attack or threat unanswered," Araghchi wrote.
He warned that US troops should leave the region if they want to be safe.
"History of the Persian Gulf has many chapters on dire fates of intruding outsiders," the minister concluded.
His statement came after the US carried out the first strikes on Iranian air defense systems and radar systems in the area of the Strait of Hormuz.
By the way, Iranian media claim that US strikes hit two water reservoirs in southern Iran. Meanwhile, CNN reports that the US has begun a new wave of retaliatory strikes.
It is also important to note that before Araghchi's post, the IRGC claimed they had launched missiles and drones at US targets in the Middle East. However, no details about any intercepted targets or any consequences have been reported so far.
What preceded this
On June 9, US President Donald Trump stated that negotiations with Iran on a deal were already in the final stages. He even suggested that a deal could be reached in the coming days.
But later that same day, he reported that Iran had shot down a US Apache helicopter the day before, on Monday. In response, he promised that the US would retaliate.
By the way, just before the strikes, Donald Trump gave an interview to ABC News in which he said the response had to be powerful, and that it would be.
