Iran has officially refuted Donald Trump's claims about its readiness to hand over nuclear materials to the US. The head of the Foreign Ministry accused the American president of manipulation, reports The Jerusalem Post.

Iran's top diplomat, Esmaeil Baghaei, stated that the transfer of uranium is not even being discussed. The official called the US leader's words an attempt to present wishful thinking as reality.

"Iran's enriched uranium is not going to be transferred anywhere; transferring uranium to the United States has not been an option for us," Baghaei said.

Trump himself, during a speech in Arizona, stated that he intends to remove Iran's highly enriched uranium using excavators. The US president consistently refers to this uranium as nuclear dust after Washington's strikes on facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow in the summer of 2025.

"We're going to get it together. We're going to go in with Iran, at a nice leisurely pace, and go down and start excavating with big machinery... We'll bring it back to the United States," Trump said.

He also emphasized that Tehran will not receive any money in return. The US leader also did not rule out the possibility of continuing the war if the deal with Iran falls through.

What is known about Iran's "nuclear dust"

Enriched uranium and Tehran's nuclear program are key points in negotiations with the US. Israel and the US firmly maintain that Iran cannot have its own nuclear weapons, but an agreement on this was not reached during the first round of talks in Pakistan.

However, Trump has already stated that Iran agreed to hand over all its enriched uranium to the US. The US leader said that Iran agreed to everything.

Meanwhile, China offers two options for resolving the situation with Iranian uranium: either take it to China, or dilute it to a state where it can only be used for peaceful purposes.
